NVIDIA's Vera CPU delivers top AI agent speed and energy efficiency, enabling more agents per watt than leading x86 CPUs. Early adopters report up to 2.2x faster processing on AI workloads, supporting power-limited AI infrastructure.
AI agents carry out complex tasks like searching for information, querying databases, coding, and executing actions, all of which demand seamless coordination between GPU reasoning and CPU execution. Recognizing this, NVIDIA has introduced the Vera CPU, designed to optimize both throughput and speed for AI agents, while maintaining superior power efficiency.
AI infrastructure providers face the challenge of supporting numerous agents simultaneously without extending their processing time, all within strict power budgets. Vera addresses these constraints by delivering the fastest agent speeds alongside high capacity per watt, consolidating tasks typically divided between fast and dense x86 processors into a single solution.
In large-scale data center comparisons involving 100 megawatts of power, NVIDIA reports that Vera outperforms the fastest and most energy-efficient x86 CPUs. Specifically, Vera enables 1.6 times more agents per watt than the fastest x86 CPUs and achieves twice the speed with superior energy efficiency compared to the most energy-efficient x86 models.
Early industry adopters have confirmed Vera's benefits in production-like environments. Perplexity accelerated agentic coding tasks by 1.5 times and plans to deploy Vera widely. DeepInfra achieved up to 2.2 times faster agent orchestration than the best x86 processors. ClickHouse demonstrated near-linear scaling across 176 cores with Vera, reaching the top of their hardware benchmarks. Other companies like DuckLabs, Daytona, and Modal reported significant performance boosts in sandbox operations and throughput compared to traditional x86 systems.
NVIDIA Vera positions itself as a transformative CPU for AI factories, balancing speed, agent density, and power efficiency to meet the demands of modern AI workloads. More details about Vera and its technical capabilities are available through NVIDIA's official channels.
