Apple unveils the latest iMac powered by the M6 chip, featuring up to 18x faster performance than previous Intel models, enhanced AI capabilities with Dual 16-core Neural Engine, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and a vibrant 24-inch 4.5K Retina display available in seven colors.

Apple has introduced the new iMac equipped with its superfast M6 chip, advancing performance and AI capabilities in its iconic all-in-one design. The M6 chip, featuring up to a 12-core CPU and GPU with Neural Accelerators in each core, offers users—from families and small businesses to aspiring creators—a substantial boost in productivity and creative workflows.

Compared to the iMac powered by the M1 chip, the new M6 iMac delivers up to 2.5 times faster application performance in software like Microsoft Excel and up to 3.3 times faster graphics performance for tasks such as photo editing in Affinity. For users upgrading from Intel-based iMacs, the performance leap reaches up to 18 times faster, marking a transformational upgrade.

The M6's Dual 16-core Neural Engine provides a notable increase in AI processing power, delivering up to 12 times faster on-device AI performance compared to M1, enabling advanced tasks like running large language models locally while maintaining data privacy. Gaming performance also improves, offering up to twice the speed with ray tracing compared to the previous M4 chip.

Connectivity features are enhanced, with the iMac supporting the latest Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 standards, alongside optional 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet for faster wired networking. Storage speeds also double, facilitating swift app launches and rapid loading of large projects. The machine features up to four Thunderbolt 4 ports, supporting dual 6K external displays.

Apple pairs these powerful internals with a visually striking 24-inch 4.5K Retina display, providing 500 nits brightness and over one billion colors with P3 wide color, offering an immersive canvas for multitasking, gaming, and media consumption. The system includes a 12MP Center Stage camera with Desk View for content sharing, as well as advanced audio featuring spatial audio with Dolby Atmos support and a high-quality three-microphone array.

Color customization is highlighted through seven vibrant finishes—blue, green, pink, yellow, purple, orange, and silver—each paired with color-matched accessories like keyboard and mouse or trackpad, the latter integrating Touch ID for secure access and Apple Pay authorization.

The new iMac runs macOS 27 Golden Gate, introducing an upgraded Siri AI experience that enhances productivity and personalization while maintaining a focus on user privacy. Features include the ability to search across personal data, intelligent photo editing, improved Safari organization, and seamless integration with iPhone via Continuity for effortless multitasking across devices.

Environmentally, Apple maintains its commitment to sustainability by using 100% recycled aluminum for the stand, recycled rare earth elements in magnets, and renewable energy in manufacturing processes.

Customers can pre-order the iMac with M6 starting October 28, 2026, with availability from November 6, 2026. Pricing begins at $1,499 USD for the 10-core CPU and GPU variant, and $1,699 USD for the 12-core versions, with educational discounts available. Additional options include Apple Upgrade leasing and AppleCare support plans. More details and configuration options are accessible on Apple’s official website.
