Apple introduces the 14-inch MacBook Pro with the advanced M6 chip, delivering up to 24 hours battery life, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and significant performance boosts over prior models. Preorders start October 28, with availability on November 6.

Apple has unveiled its new 14-inch MacBook Pro, equipped with the latest M6 chip, offering substantial improvements in performance, battery life, and connectivity. The device, announced on October 27, 2026, marks a significant upgrade over its predecessor, featuring a 12-core CPU, a 12-core GPU, and enhanced AI processing capabilities. According to Apple, the M6 chip delivers up to 30% faster graphics performance and up to 25% faster AI workloads compared to the previous M5 model. It also boasts up to 13 times faster large language model (LLM) prompt-processing speed than the original M1 MacBook Pro, and up to 1.3 times faster performance than the M5 variant.

The MacBook Pro's 12-core CPU includes the world’s fastest CPU core, enabling rapid single- and multithreaded processing for demanding professional workflows. The integrated 12-core GPU features Neural Accelerators within each core and a Dual 16-core Neural Engine, providing up to 1.9 times faster AI workload performance compared to the M5, facilitating accelerated tasks such as image generation and AI upscaling directly on the device.

Beyond raw processing power, the new model supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6, enhancing wireless connectivity and reducing latency. The laptop offers up to 24 hours of battery life—up to 14 hours longer than Intel-based predecessor Macs and four hours more than earlier M1 models—allowing users extended productivity on a single charge. Fast charging support can restore up to 50% battery in 30 minutes with a compatible high-wattage USB-C power adapter.

Design-wise, the 14-inch MacBook Pro is available in space black and silver finishes and retains a versatile port selection including HDMI, MagSafe 3, three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an SDXC card slot, and a headphone jack. The display features Apple’s Liquid Retina XDR technology with peak HDR brightness up to 1600 nits and an optional nano-texture coating to reduce glare. Video calls are enhanced by a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera with Desk View, complemented by a high-quality six-speaker sound system and a studio-grade three-microphone array.

The MacBook Pro ships with a minimum of 16GB unified memory, configurable up to 32GB, and increased memory bandwidth up to 170GB/s, surpassing prior generations. Apple highlights user benefits such as seamless integration with iPhone through Continuity features, support for running large AI models locally with privacy protections, and the latest macOS 27 Golden Gate operating system that includes Siri AI and advanced Apple Intelligence functions.

Customers can preorder starting October 28, with shipment and retail availability commencing November 6 in 35 countries. The base price is $1,999, with education pricing available. Apple is also promoting trade-in programs and flexible payment options including leasing via Apple Upgrade.

This launch comes alongside Apple’s new M6-powered iMac and follows the recent introduction of an updated iPad mini, continuing the company’s trend of integrating powerful silicon designed for enhanced AI and graphics performance across its product line.
