Google announces Genie 4, a new world model enhancing real-time interactive simulations with high realism and native audio, supporting dynamic scene control using natural language.
On October 27, 2026, Google introduced Genie 4, their latest world model designed for real-time interactive simulation that delivers unprecedented realism and native audio. Building on capabilities from their Gemini family of models, Genie 4 integrates Gemini Omni to anchor simulations in real-world appearances and behaviors, while other Gemini models provide complex reasoning to maintain the coherence and continuity of the simulated environments.
Genie 4 enables users to initiate and control simulated events dynamically through natural language commands. This includes the ability to move the camera, alter weather conditions, or add new characters within the scene, allowing for immediate and intuitive interaction. A notable enhancement is its generation of native audio on the fly, which encompasses ambient sounds, music, and interactive dialogue, increasing the immersive quality of the simulations.
The development of Genie 4 represents a significant step toward artificial general intelligence (AGI), offering safer training environments for robots and agents. Furthermore, it holds potential to amplify creative workflows across diverse industries such as filmmaking, journalism, gaming, and manufacturing by providing powerful new tools for simulation and storytelling.
Google has begun rolling out Genie 4 to a select group of trusted testers and plans to make it available soon to Google AI Ultra subscribers within Project Genie, as well as to early access partners through the Gemini API and AI Studio. Demonstrations and additional information about Genie 4 are accessible on the Google DeepMind blog.
