Netflix has secured a multiyear exclusive deal with YouTuber and comedian Druski, who will produce several original projects for the streaming platform, starting with the comedy series Collect & Praise debuting December 1.
Netflix has announced a multiyear agreement with YouTuber, comedian, and influencer Druski to create original content exclusively for the streaming platform. This deal exemplifies Netflix’s ongoing strategy to collaborate with prominent digital content creators, following previous arrangements with well-known YouTubers such as Mark Rober, Ms. Rachel, and Good Mythical Morning.
Druski's initial project for Netflix is Collect & Praise, a semi-scripted comedy series where he portrays a megachurch pastor. The show is set to premiere on December 1. According to a press release, Collect & Praise will be just the first in a slate of original productions planned by Druski and his production company, 4LIFERS Entertainment. Additionally, Netflix has licensed other series produced by Druski, including Coulda Been Love, Coulda Been Daddy, and Coulda Been Records Auditions.
This announcement comes amid Netflix’s recent financial disclosures, where the company sought to reassure investors despite a decline in viewing metrics. Netflix has recently undergone workforce reductions, cutting around 1,000 jobs, alongside high-level executive departures including chief content officer Bela Bajaria and film lead Dan Lin. The partnership with Druski reflects Netflix's focus on fresh content creation through collaborations with popular creators to maintain its competitive edge in streaming entertainment.
