New Windows 11 Insider builds bring advanced search filtering, inline feedback for improvements, and Xbox mode shortcuts for quick control of Bluetooth, WiFi, and power without leaving gaming mode.

Microsoft's latest Windows 11 Insider builds, Beta Build 26220.9836 and Experimental Build 26340.9843, introduce significant enhancements to Search and Xbox gaming mode shortcuts. These updates aim to streamline user experience with more powerful search capabilities and smoother control during gaming.

The updated search function now allows users to filter results by files, actions, or web content, making it easier to find what they need quickly. Beyond simple queries, the search box can execute system commands such as adjusting screen brightness or volume. Notably, it extends its reach to connected smartphones, enabling actions like making calls directly from the Search interface.

Search results have become richer, displaying metadata like file modification dates and authorship. Additionally, users can view dynamic data, including stock charts and weather information, integrated within the search pane. Microsoft has also introduced inline thumbs-up and thumbs-down icons, allowing users to provide feedback to help train and enhance search accuracy over time.

For Xbox gamers, the new Insider builds add shortcuts accessible within Xbox gaming mode. These shortcuts facilitate quick adjustments to Bluetooth, WiFi, and power settings without exiting gaming, offering uninterrupted play with easier system management.

These features reflect Microsoft's ongoing efforts to refine Windows 11 based on Insider feedback, enhancing both productivity and gaming experiences. The company has detailed these improvements further on its official blog.

As these builds are currently available only to Windows Insiders, broader public availability may follow pending further refinement and testing.
