Amazon introduced five new Alexa-enabled devices, including the Alexa Photo Frame, Echo Time smart alarm clock, an upgraded Echo Dot with smart home hub, Echo Studio with camera and visual AI, and the Echo Show 16 with a larger display.
Amazon has expanded its Alexa device lineup with the launch of five new products, introducing novel hardware and significant upgrades to existing models. Among the new devices, the Alexa Photo Frame enters the digital photo display market, offering a 10-inch semi-matte, anti-glare screen that blends aesthetically with home decor. The device integrates seamlessly with Amazon accounts, allowing Prime members unlimited photo storage on Amazon Photos. Alexa+ AI enhances the experience by intelligently selecting photos to display—favoring images with smiles and good lighting and matching seasonal contexts, while excluding less desirable images like screenshots or receipts. Users can also attach voice notes to photos, which sync automatically as new images are taken. The Alexa Photo Frame is available now starting at $199.99 in black and $229 in wood finishes.
The Echo Time smart alarm clock addresses the common desire to reduce reliance on smartphones for morning routines. Priced at $199.99, and $209.99 for a Kids version, it includes optional sleep sensing technology that can detect lighter sleep phases to provide less disruptive wake-up times within a set window before the alarm. The device also mimics natural sunrise lighting to ease the user awake, aiming to create a more restful start to the day.
In addition, Amazon upgraded its Echo Dot with a built-in smart home hub and an eero Wi-Fi extender, enhancing connectivity with home devices across up to 1,000 square feet. Powered by Amazon’s AZ3 custom silicon chip, the Echo Dot improves on-device processing for faster Alexa+ interactions, retailing at $99.99.
The Echo Studio now includes a home camera with visual intelligence capabilities. This device lets users remotely check on their home and leverages AI to identify objects in real time. Alexa+ can explain game rules by recognizing a board game box or help reorder cereal by identifying the box, among other features. The Echo Studio with Home Camera is priced at $249.99.
Finally, the Echo Show 16 offers a 16-inch display with a 10% larger viewing area and a 40% smaller frame than its predecessor. It integrates Fire TV, Smart Home tools such as Family Organizer, and can double as a digital photo frame. The device is available for pre-order at $499.99.
These new devices reflect Amazon’s push to blend sophisticated AI capabilities with home convenience and aesthetic design, enhancing how users interact with their environments through Alexa’s evolving ecosystem.
