Google’s Gemini app introduces immersive explorations in its student hub, allowing users to interactively explore topics from microscopic structures to cosmic scales with layered visual and soon audio guidance.

Google has unveiled a new feature called immersive explorations within its Gemini app, designed to enrich educational engagement through interactive and visual experiences. Available now in the Gemini student hub, this feature offers a library of explorations that enable users to delve into various subjects in a layered, interactive manner—from the atomic level to outer space.

Accessible via the “Try immersive explorations” option, these experiences guide learners through detailed scenarios such as tracing historical Silk Road trade routes, examining the inner workings of a jet engine, or understanding the physics behind lightning. Users can tap labels to probe deeper into specific elements, effectively moving from broad planetary views to molecular and atomic details.

Google plans to integrate these immersive explorations into chat conversations with Gemini soon, enhancing interactive learning within conversational contexts. Additionally, audio narration will be added to support users through each exploration layer, providing an auditory guide that complements the visual experience.

Currently, the feature supports six languages fully: English, Indonesian, Hindi, Brazilian Portuguese, French, and simplified Chinese. Other languages temporarily receive the experience in English only, with plans to expand multilingual support in the near future.

This launch marks a significant step for the Gemini app, positioning it as a versatile tool for students seeking deeper understanding through immersive technology. Users are encouraged to explore the new feature through the student hub to experience learning topics in a richly interactive format.
