Google and Singapore partner to deploy advanced AI in healthcare with a new research hub, $7 million funding, and tools aiding clinicians and public health across the nation.

At the Google for Health Summit held in Singapore on October 29, 2026, Google announced a significant expansion of its partnership with the Singapore Ministry of Health to integrate cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies into the national healthcare system. The collaboration aims to accelerate scientific discoveries, enhance clinical care, and empower citizens with proactive health management tools.

Central to this initiative is the establishment of a Google Research hub in Singapore, staffed by local researchers and engineers. This hub will develop foundational AI models to foster medical breakthroughs and support local scientific research, working closely with Singapore’s leading academic institutions like the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University. Through this collaboration, Google intends to support the training of future scientific leaders and create AI solutions tailored to Singapore’s healthcare needs.

In a substantial commitment to regional public health intelligence, Google.org and Google DeepMind are contributing $7 million to the Philanthropy Asia Alliance’s Health for Human Potential Coalition. This includes funding for PathGen, an AI platform designed to enable faster disease threat detection and secure data sharing among countries while maintaining data sovereignty.

Supporting clinicians on the frontlines, Google DeepMind is partnering with the National University Health System to pilot an AI co-clinician tool. This tool assists medical professionals by synthesizing medical guidelines and literature, enabling more personalized patient care. Furthermore, Google Cloud is working with NHG Health to apply AI-driven predictive analytics for forecasting chronic disease risks in sub-populations. These insights inform the NHG HealthBot, an AI health coach that delivers customized lifestyle advice and preventive care reminders to individuals.

Google emphasized that true progress in healthcare depends on responsibly integrating advanced AI technologies with safe governance and a focus on human-centered care. By leveraging Singapore’s world-class healthcare infrastructure and Google’s AI expertise, this partnership aims to create a scalable model for AI deployment that addresses aging populations and the shift towards preventive medicine globally.

This comprehensive approach underscores a vision where AI not only accelerates research and clinical efficiencies but also enhances public health outreach and individual wellness, setting a new standard for healthcare innovation in Asia and beyond.
