Meta has introduced Style Sketch, an AI-powered fashion app that creates outfit ideas from users’ existing wardrobes, connecting with Instagram to build virtual closets. Available in select Southeast Asian countries, the app includes personalized virtual try-ons and trip-based outfit planning.
Meta has quietly introduced Style Sketch, a new artificial intelligence-driven fashion app designed to help users assemble outfit ideas using clothes they already own. The app distinguishes itself by integrating directly with Instagram, allowing it to automatically build a virtual closet from photos users have previously posted. Alternatively, users can add items manually by snapping photos, recording quick videos, or uploading images from their camera rolls.
Once the wardrobe is created, Style Sketch uses AI algorithms to suggest outfit combinations tailored to each user’s style. It also features a virtual try-on function with realistic models matched to users’ body shapes and skin tones, enhancing personalization and visualization.
In addition to everyday outfit planning, the app offers trip-specific packing assistance. By inputting destination details, trip length, and planned activities, users receive a day-by-day outfit plan informed by weather forecasts and itineraries.
Style Sketch was first noted by social media consultant Matt Navarra and is currently available on iOS and Android devices in Indonesia, Singapore, and Thailand. Meta has yet to announce if or when the app will be launched more broadly or if it is part of a larger rollout strategy.
The app enters a competitive field with existing solutions like Alta and features within Google Photos that allow digitizing wardrobes and generating outfit ideas. Meta’s competitive edge likely lies in the deep integration with Instagram, providing a seamless way to leverage users’ existing style data.
This launch is part of a broader surge in AI-powered applications from Meta, which recently released apps such as Waddle World and Pocket. According to previous reports, Meta aims to accelerate the release of new AI-driven applications, reflecting CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s directive to increase innovation velocity through efficiencies gained from artificial intelligence.
Meta did not provide comments when contacted for further information about Style Sketch or its future plans for the app.
