Cyberpunk 2077's 2.5 update introduces cross-platform mod support on consoles, new Edgerunners 2-themed content, and gameplay enhancements, extending to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Cyberpunk 2077 has received a major 2.5 update that expands its offerings significantly, particularly for console players. Among the most notable additions is the introduction of cross-platform mod support powered by mod.io, enabling players on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 to browse and install player-created mods directly through the in-game menu. CD Projekt Red has committed to gradually increasing the selection of available mods over time, promising an extended lifespan for the game years after its initial launch.

The update also brings content tied to the new season of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime on Netflix. This includes a fresh side quest, a gear set inspired by the character Weak Kingsley, and a new radio station featuring music from the show. Additionally, there is a new Double Trouble perk that permits dual-wielding pistols and revolvers, enhancing combat options.

Other gameplay improvements include a Richard Night-guided tour side quest of Night City, grouped save files sorted by playthrough for better management, and console-specific enhancements such as an FOV slider for a customizable field of view. For PC players with compatible hardware, the update adds support for DLSS 4.5 and glasses-free 3D effects.

The update was released on October 22 for PC, Mac, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with availability on Nintendo Switch 2 and the Mac App Store scheduled closely following. This substantial update underscores CD Projekt Red's continued support for Cyberpunk 2077 as it embraces community content and celebrates crossover media collaborations.
