Waze now features voice-guided navigation by the Cat in the Hat, voiced by Bill Hader, with rhymes and playful sounds to brighten daily commutes. The update includes themed moods and a unique navigation icon.

Waze has launched a new voice navigation experience featuring the iconic character "The Cat in the Hat" to transform everyday driving into a more enjoyable journey. Announced on October 21, 2026, this fresh feature accompanies the film adaptation's release on November 6. The Cat in the Hat, voiced by comedian Bill Hader, provides turn-by-turn directions that incorporate whimsical rhymes, upbeat commentary, and playful sound effects inspired by Dr. Seuss's beloved storytelling style.

Beyond voice guidance, the update enriches user personalization by introducing two selectable moods: the "Delightful" Mood, showcasing the Cat's signature red-and-white striped stovepipe hat, and the "Impulsive" Mood featuring Thing 1 to reflect the character's mischievous side. Drivers can further customize their interface by replacing the standard navigation arrow with the Cat’s distinctive jet-powered Magical Couch vehicle symbol.

This immersive experience aims to inject fun and optimism into daily commutes, turning typical traffic encounters into memorable drives. It is accessible worldwide in English. Users can activate the feature by opening the Waze app and tapping the banner in the main menu or enabling it directly through the app settings.

Waze’s collaboration with the Cat in the Hat franchise highlights an innovative approach to enhancing navigation apps through popular culture integrations, providing both entertainment and practical utility to its global user base. This initiative aligns with broader trends of adding character-driven elements to technology platforms to boost user engagement.
