Google unveils the Connected Apps Platform, enabling developers to build and manage apps centrally for Search and the Gemini app, with new partners like Adobe and Peloton joining the ecosystem.

Google has introduced the Connected Apps Platform, a new developer environment designed to streamline the process of integrating and managing applications across Google Search and the Gemini app. Announced on October 28, 2026, this platform provides a unified interface for developers to register, test, and submit their apps, as well as monitor performance and maintain brand identity features such as verified logos and authenticated accounts.

The platform supports integration through cloud-hosted MCP servers or Android MCP using AppFunctions APIs, allowing developers to build their app once and deploy it across both Search and Gemini, or selectively launch in either. This centralized management is intended to reach users who are actively engaging with Google’s search and assistant tools, offering seamless access to connected app functionalities.

In addition to the platform launch, Google announced new Connected Apps partnerships with notable companies including Adobe, Calm, Experian, Localiza, and Peloton. These integrations, already live in Gemini for users, cover diverse categories from productivity and event ticketing to health and fitness. Google plans to extend availability of these apps to Search users in the coming weeks, enhancing cross-platform user experiences.

Google is rolling out access to the Connected Apps Platform in phases, expanding the number of developers, geographic markets, and Google products it supports over time. Developers interested in preview access are encouraged to sign up and explore comprehensive documentation available at developers.google.com/connected-apps.

The Connected Apps initiative reflects Google’s effort to unify app experiences within its ecosystem, enabling users to complete tasks more efficiently through integrated third-party tools directly accessible from Search and the Gemini app. This approach aims to position Google as a central hub for productivity and lifestyle applications, leveraging its search and AI capabilities to drive engagement.

For users, the platform means a growing suite of connected functionalities, with upcoming additions like Calm promising to enrich daily interactions. Google also provides support pages listing all available Connected Apps for both Search and Gemini, allowing users to discover and manage integrations effortlessly.

Overall, the Connected Apps Platform signals Google's strategic push to enhance interoperability and developer engagement, fostering an ecosystem where app capabilities seamlessly complement Google’s core services.
