Jackery launches the Explorer 100D, a compact and lightweight portable power station featuring a lithium iron phosphate battery for enhanced safety and longevity, ideal for travel and outdoor use.
Jackery has introduced the Explorer 100D, its smallest portable power station to date, featuring lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries that the company began using in 2023. Measuring just 4.6 by 3.4 by 3.4 inches and weighing only 1.87 pounds, this compact device packs a 96Wh (30,000mAh) battery capacity, making it highly portable and suitable for travelers who need to power multiple devices during long flights or outdoor excursions.
The Explorer 100D stands out not only for its size but for its battery technology. LFP batteries are known for being safer and more durable than conventional lithium-ion cells. Jackery states that the LFP cells in this unit are engineered to handle up to 3,000 charge cycles and last up to 8 years of regular use, offering significantly enhanced longevity compared to typical portable chargers.
Despite its compact form, the power station includes practical features such as an integrated handle and an optional shoulder strap for ease of transport. On the front panel, users will find two 140W USB-C ports and an 18W USB-A port. However, the total power output is capped at 158W, meaning power delivery adjusts when multiple ports are used simultaneously.
Additionally, the Explorer 100D supports direct solar charging with up to 100W input, allowing it to recharge to 80 percent capacity in approximately 90 minutes under optimal sunlight conditions if paired with a suitable solar panel.
The product will be officially available starting November 15 through Walmart at a price of $99. Those eager to purchase earlier can find it in a two-pack deal at Costco for $179.99. While smaller and cheaper portable chargers exist, Jackery’s use of LFP batteries distinguishes the Explorer 100D by providing improved safety and a longer lifespan, making it a durable option for users needing reliable portable power.
This new model reflects Jackery’s ongoing innovation in portable power solutions, catering to the needs of travelers, outdoor enthusiasts, and those requiring dependable, compact energy sources.
