Amazon has replaced Grubhub with Uber Eats as the official restaurant delivery service for Prime members in the United States, integrating Uber Eats orders directly on Amazon platforms with waived delivery fees for orders over $25.
Amazon announced on November 5, 2026, that Uber Eats has become its official restaurant delivery partner for Prime members in the United States, ending its prior arrangement with Grubhub. Under this new partnership, Amazon Prime members can order meals from Uber Eats directly through Amazon.com and the Amazon Shopping app. Notably, customers will not be required to create an Uber account to place orders, and delivery fees will be waived for orders exceeding $25.
This change concludes Amazon's commercial deal with Grubhub that previously provided Prime members access to Grubhub+'s subscription benefits. An Amazon spokesperson indicated the company regularly evaluates its third-party offerings and identified an opportunity to enhance the restaurant delivery experience for Prime members by partnering with Uber Eats.
The Uber Eats agreement also extends an already broad relationship between Amazon and Uber, including collaborations in cloud computing, autonomous vehicle project Zoox, and integration with Amazon's Alexa+ assistant. To encourage Prime members to adopt the new service, Amazon and Uber are offering a $20 discount on the first Uber Eats order of $25 or more during the first two weeks of the partnership.
Amazon's prior partnership with Grubhub began in 2022, initially offering Prime members free Grubhub+ subscriptions. This relationship deepened as Amazon expanded the offer to an ongoing benefit and acquired up to an 18% equity stake in Grubhub through agreements with its then-owner, Just Eat Takeaway.com. However, after Just Eat Takeaway announced the sale of Grubhub to Wonder in 2026, Amazon chose to cash out its remaining warrants in December 2024.
Despite the equity changes and ownership transitions at Grubhub, Amazon maintained its partnership until now. Grubhub had not responded for comment by the time of the announcement. This strategic switch to Uber Eats provides Amazon Prime members a more integrated and fee-friendly restaurant delivery option within the Amazon ecosystem.
