Google’s AI Educator Series, a free on-demand training program for teachers to apply AI in classrooms, is now expanding to Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, and sub-Saharan Africa, following earlier launches in the U.S., India, and more.
Google is broadening its AI Educator Series (GES), an accessible training initiative designed to equip teachers worldwide with practical AI skills tailored for education. Initially launched in the United States earlier in 2026, the program has since extended to countries including India, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, and the U.K. & Ireland. Now, Google announces an expansion into five additional regions: Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, and sub-Saharan Africa.
The Google AI Educator Series offers a no-cost, on-demand training platform that integrates AI tools such as Gemini and Gemini Notebook, aiming to help educators create engaging lesson plans, save time on administrative tasks, and enhance student learning experiences. The training fits into teachers’ busy schedules and adapts to diverse educational contexts.
In India, where the program has trained 80,000 educators, teachers utilize AI to convert complex subjects into comic strips, podcasts, and infographics, making learning more accessible and engaging. The Indian modules are offered in English plus six local languages, aligning with the National Education Policy 2020. Similarly, in the Philippines, educators apply Gemini to simulate market scenarios in economics classes, freeing time for direct student support. Google has partnered with multiple Philippine educational authorities to extend AI training to over one million educators nationwide.
Malaysian teachers report that GES helps them save up to five hours per topic in preparation by automating curricula and assessment tasks, allowing more focus on interactive learning. In the U.K., educators use AI to foster creativity in writing and lesson development, with training accessible online or through in-person events across the U.K. and Ireland.
Korean educators partner with Seoul National University of Education to align GES with national curricula and competency frameworks, using AI for inquiry-based lessons and administrative efficiencies.
Responding to teacher feedback, Google is releasing new training modules in November 2026, focusing on building interactive assessments, guiding students through game-based learning, and strengthening academic assignments to promote critical thinking.
As the program grows, educators can earn digital badges and join a global community that leverages AI to meet diverse learning needs and challenges. Google's expansion of GES reflects its commitment to democratizing AI education tools and supporting teachers worldwide.
