NVIDIA's DSX AI Factory platform helps companies integrate and optimize power, cooling, and compute systems to tackle massive infrastructure power bottlenecks and enable scalable AI data centers.
As demand for AI compute surges worldwide, power infrastructure has become a critical bottleneck, with over $300 billion in equipment delayed and 200 gigawatts of projects stalled in U.S. interconnection queues. Addressing these challenges, NVIDIA has introduced the Vera Rubin DSX AI Factory reference design and Omniverse DSX Blueprint—tools that co-design AI infrastructure to maximize token output per watt while accelerating deployment timelines.
NVIDIA DSX integrates formerly siloed systems, allowing companies to simulate and coordinate the power grid, facilities, and compute hardware as unified entities. The platform includes DSX Sim and SimReady assets for high-fidelity simulation of substations, power systems, and cooling to validate designs pre-construction. DSX Flex dynamically aligns AI factory power demand with grid conditions and on-site generation, transforming AI data centers into flexible grid assets that can adjust load responsively.
DSX Max-Q software helps optimize computational output within fixed power budgets, while DSX Exchange securely links compute, networking, energy, cooling, and operational data streams for better system coordination. Omniverse DSX Blueprint enables creation of physically accurate digital twins that simulate AI factory operations in real time, guiding design, construction, and operational optimization.
A broad ecosystem of industry leaders, including GE Vernova, Hitachi Energy, Schneider Electric, Siemens Energy, and Emerald AI, are leveraging NVIDIA’s DSX architecture to improve power infrastructure resilience, unlock grid capacity, and enhance AI factory efficiency. Partners such as Dassault Systèmes, Cadence, and Jacobs integrate NVIDIA DSX solutions into engineering and digital twin platforms to accelerate design and ensure reliable deployments.
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated, “In the age of AI, intelligence tokens are the new currency, and AI factories are the infrastructure that generates them.” By addressing the pressing power limitations through integrated software and hardware co-design, NVIDIA’s DSX platform aims to unlock the growth of energy-efficient, high-performance AI factories worldwide.
This initiative is showcased at GTC Berlin where NVIDIA and partners present advances in power-flexible AI factories that strengthen grid stability and reduce energy consumption. The Vera Rubin DSX AI Factory reference design and Omniverse DSX Blueprint are now generally available to industry participants committed to overcoming AI infrastructure power challenges.
