A cyberattack on Trump Mobile has leaked personal information of 3,615 customers. The breach reportedly exploited a malware infection on an employee device at Liberty Mobile, the MVNO managing Trump Mobile.

Trump Mobile, the mobile virtual network operator associated with Donald Trump’s family, has suffered a significant data breach compromising the personal information of 3,615 subscribers. The breach marks another challenge for the company which was launched in mid-2025 by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump.

According to reports from Straight Arrow News, the breach was carried out by the cybercriminal group known as BYOD (Bring Your Own Device). This group claims that Trump Mobile was informed about the security breach but indicated it lacked a dedicated cybersecurity team to respond effectively. Trump Mobile representatives reportedly condemned BYOD's actions, comparing them to terrorism.

Further investigation by PCMag revealed that the attack vector involved the installation of malicious software on a device used by an employee of Liberty Mobile, the MVNO operator responsible for managing Trump Mobile’s network services. This malware provided unauthorized access to sensitive customer data.

Among the compromised data are personal details of Eric Brunnett, the vice president and chief information officer of the Trump Organization. Notably, the breach did not expose information related to members of President Trump's family.

This incident follows prior security concerns at Trump Mobile; confidential customer information had already been exposed in May 2025, months before the official rollout of the Trump T1 smartphone. The Trump T1, priced at $499, was announced with initial reservations from about 600,000 customers, with deliveries planned for August or September 2025.

Reports also noted that claims about the phone being "proudly designed and made in the USA" were later removed from press and marketing materials. Journalistic sources including CNN observed that the Trump T1 bears a strong resemblance to a budget Chinese smartphone available through Walmart for under $200.

The data breach underscores the cybersecurity vulnerabilities facing emerging MVNOs and highlights the importance of robust security infrastructure in protecting subscriber information. The full impact on users remains to be seen as investigations continue.
