Analogue announced enhanced versions of its Super Nt and Mega Sg consoles featuring updated designs, USB-C power, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless controller support, and hot-swappable cartridges.

Analogue has announced the Super Nt Plus and Mega Sg Plus, new iterations of its popular retro gaming consoles originally released in 2017 and 2018. Both devices preserve the core functionality of playing original Nintendo and Sega Genesis cartridges via FPGA processors, which accurately replicate the consoles’ hardware without relying on software emulation.

The Super Nt Plus and Mega Sg Plus introduce a reworked industrial design while maintaining a close visual resemblance to their predecessors. Significant upgrades include the addition of USB-C ports, allowing users to power the consoles with commonly available phone and mobile device chargers. An extra USB-A port is also included for connecting peripherals.

A major new feature is integrated wireless connectivity for controllers. The consoles support Bluetooth and low-latency 2.4GHz wireless connections, enabling gamepads to connect without a separate dongle. Wired controllers remain compatible, and the primary connected gamepad can now remotely power on the console.

Another quality-of-life improvement is the ability to hot swap game cartridges. Players can remove and insert cartridges without powering down, provided they exit the current game through the menu system first.

Unlike Analogue’s 3D console, which supports 4K gaming with Nintendo 64 titles, the Super Nt Plus and Mega Sg Plus output at 1080p resolution. Both consoles will be available for preorder starting October 19th at 9 AM PT / 11 AM ET, priced at $219.99, with shipments expected to begin in December 2026.
