The updated Belgee X50 compact crossover is now available at Russian dealerships, priced at 2.2 million rubles. It features a naturally aspirated 1.5L engine and a six-speed automatic, positioned as a more affordable alternative to the Belgee X50+.
The updated compact crossover Belgee X50 has started arriving at Russian dealerships, with initial units already present in St. Petersburg showrooms, despite the official sales launch date not being announced yet. Priced at 2.2 million rubles, this model offers a lower-cost alternative to its sibling, the Belgee X50+. It is 120,000 rubles cheaper than the base version of the higher-spec X50+ and comes with distinct powertrain features.
Unlike the turbocharged engine equipped in the X50+, the Belgee X50 sports a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine delivering 122 horsepower. This powerplant is paired with a traditional six-speed automatic transmission rather than more modern alternatives.
The crossover is available solely in the 'Active' trim, which includes a suite of safety and convenience features such as four airbags, air conditioning, cruise control, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, and an automatic light sensor. Its infotainment system comprises an 8-inch touchscreen paired with a four-speaker audio setup and a 3.5-inch information screen on an analog instrument cluster.
Additionally, a comfort package includes heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heating for the windshield wiper rest area and washer nozzles, enhancing winter usability.
A dealer company representative, Alexander Shaprinsky, estimates that the Belgee X50 could account for approximately 15% of the brand’s sales in Russia during its initial phase, potentially rising to 20-25% in the future. Competitors in its pricing segment include entry-level models from Haval and Tenet.
This launch reflects Belgee's effort to broaden its market appeal in Russia by offering a more affordable, straightforward crossover option that favors simplicity and traditional engine technology over turbocharging and advanced transmissions.
