Google unveils Fitbit Edge, a slim fitness tracker featuring a bright display, seven-day battery, advanced health sensors, precise GPS, and personalized coaching, available for pre-order now with retail launch on October 27.

On October 12, 2026, Google introduced the Fitbit Edge, a newly designed fitness tracker aimed at combining health expertise with modern smart features in an ultra-slim, lightweight device. Positioned between their Pixel Watch and simpler screenless bands, Fitbit Edge targets users seeking both style and comprehensive fitness tracking without the bulk of a full smartwatch.

The Fitbit Edge features a large and vivid Hybrid OLED display, boasting 46% more viewing area than previous models, ensuring easy readability even in direct sunlight. Its physical side button offers tactile feedback for quick access during workouts. The device is built with durable recycled aluminum, offering a slim 11.5mm profile and a case that is 45% lighter than the Apple Watch Series 12, prioritizing comfort for all-day wear.

Designed for fitness enthusiasts, Fitbit Edge supports over 50 workout modes with real-time guidance, leveraging automatic activity recognition powered by AI to log up to 100 different exercises even without manual input. Enhanced location accuracy comes through upgraded precision GPS and an integrated altimeter to track elevation changes, supporting detailed performance insights during activities like runs and stair workouts.

On the health monitoring front, Fitbit Edge integrates advanced sensors for continuous heart rate monitoring, sleep stage analysis, heart rhythm assessment via ECG, skin temperature tracking, and recovery scoring. The device also features Health Guardian capabilities that monitor shifts in blood pressure trends, insulin resistance, and heart rate alerts, complemented by personalized coaching through Google Health Premium — included free for three months with purchase.

Battery life stands out with up to seven days on a single charge, supported by fast magnetic charging that can replenish a full day of use in five minutes. The tracker is water-resistant up to 50 meters and designed for durability and repairability with modular internal architecture and a replaceable battery to extend its lifespan.

Fitbit Edge is available in four stylish finishes—Obsidian, Fog, Olive, and Canyon—with a range of interchangeable bands including sport, loop, magnet, and metal links options to suit different looks. Additionally, a Stephen Curry Special Edition model features unique color accents inspired by the NBA player, priced at $219.99.

Consumers can pre-order the Fitbit Edge now on the Google Store and select retailers for $179.99. The device will become available in stores starting October 27, 2026, as part of Google's expanded wearable offerings.
