Amdocs has signed several deals to supply its agentic AI operating system and BSS solutions to major telecom operators including Vodafone UK, AT&T, and Globe, while also expanding into insurance through acquiring EIS for $340 million.
Amdocs, a prominent software company specializing in telecommunications solutions, has recently expanded its footprint by securing multiple contracts with telecom operators and announcing a strategic entry into the insurance industry. The company revealed partnerships with Vodafone Business UK, Magyar Telekom, Globe, AT&T, and Integratel Peru, focusing on agentic AI, business support systems (BSS), and managed services.
Central to several agreements is Amdocs’ aOS, an agentic operating system designed to advance generative AI strategies for telecom operators. Vodafone plans to use aOS to consolidate and upgrade its multiple legacy BSS components. AT&T intends to integrate aOS with its existing AI infrastructure to streamline operations and accelerate the rollout of new products and services. Meanwhile, Globe is set to leverage aOS to modernize its core platforms and enhance IT capabilities, following a recently completed data modernization project with Google Cloud.
In Hungary, Magyar Telekom has committed to a multi-year partnership with Amdocs to upgrade core BSS elements, targeting improvements in billing, convergent charging, and product catalog functions. Integratel Peru has entrusted Amdocs with application management and technology development, with a focus on utilizing Amdocs’ Online Charging System to meet current and future billing requirements. Juan Pons, COO of Integratel Peru, highlighted that this collaboration supports the operator’s transformation journey aimed at building a simpler, more agile technology environment.
Beyond telecom, Amdocs is diversifying by entering the insurance sector through acquiring EIS, a global insurance technology provider, for approximately $340 million in cash, with potential additional payments tied to performance. Amdocs intends to integrate EIS’ technology with its aOS platform to deliver innovative services to insurers. Shimi Hortig, Amdocs President and CEO, stated the move positions the company to accelerate insurers’ progression into what it terms the "agentic era." The insurance market’s complex, highly regulated nature shares similarities with telecom, making it a strategic choice for expansion.
These developments underscore Amdocs’ commitment to leveraging AI-driven solutions across industries, enhancing operational efficiency for telecom providers while strategically tapping new markets. While the exact timelines for full deployment remain unspecified, these initiatives indicate significant advancements in operator technology modernization and sector diversification for Amdocs.
