In his first earnings call as Apple CEO, John Ternus credited the company’s most prolific product launch period for driving strong revenue growth, led by record iPhone sales despite supply challenges.

Apple marked a significant milestone under the leadership of its new CEO, John Ternus, who oversaw the company’s fiscal Q4 2026 earnings announcement, describing the recent period as its most prolific for product launches in history. The quarter, ending September 26, saw Apple generate $114.5 billion in revenue, a 12% increase year-over-year, accompanied by a net income of $30.7 billion. This growth was primarily fueled by a substantial rise in iPhone and Mac sales, which offset declines in wearables, home accessories, and iPad sales.

Ternus emphasized Apple’s strategic expansion with several notable innovations, including its debut in the foldable smartphone market with the iPhone Duo, which he called “the most transformational iPhone since the original.” Apple also renewed its smart home efforts through the release of the HomeView hub and intensified its artificial intelligence initiatives with a revamped Siri AI, aimed at delivering more powerful AI capabilities across its device lineup.

Despite the enthusiasm surrounding the iPhone Duo, Apple faced supply constraints that delayed deliveries into 2027 in some regions. Chief Operating Officer Sabih Khan acknowledged that while production ramp-up is progressing well, balancing supply and demand remains challenging.

The iPhone segment itself achieved a record revenue of $57.6 billion for the quarter, reflecting a 17% increase, even as the figures did not yet include iPhone Duo orders. Services revenue also reached an all-time high at $31.6 billion, supported by over 2.5 billion active Apple devices and more than 1.5 billion paid subscriptions. Mac sales rose impressively by 24% to $10.8 billion.

Conversely, revenue from wearables, home products, and accessories declined 8% to $8.3 billion, while iPad sales dipped 10% to $6.2 billion. Ternus reiterated the central role of the iPhone as “the intelligent personal hub,” positioning Apple advantageously in the competitive AI landscape due to its unique access to personal user data.

Looking forward, Apple anticipates revenue growth of between 7% and 10% in the upcoming quarter, which its CFO Kevan Parekh predicts could be the company’s highest ever. Services revenue is expected to increase 8% to 9%, though rising memory costs present a potential headwind. Overall, the results reflect Apple’s strong market position bolstered by innovative product development and a growing services ecosystem.
