Telecom Italia has named Mirko Mischiatti as chief enterprise and innovative solutions officer and Claudio Ongaro as the new CTO, with both replacements effective immediately.
Telecom Italia announced leadership changes on October 19, 2026, appointing Mirko Mischiatti as its new chief enterprise and innovative solutions officer, replacing Elio Schiavo, who served in the role for over four years. Mischiatti joins from Poste Italiane, the company that owns a controlling stake in Telecom Italia following a shareholder buyout earlier this year. At Poste Italiane, Mischiatti held several positions, most recently heading digital, technology, and operations.
Additionally, Claudio Ongaro has been appointed as Telecom Italia’s new Chief Technology Officer (CTO), succeeding Leonardo de Carvalho Capdeville, who led the technology office for slightly more than two years and previously held a similar role for a decade at Telecom Italia’s Brazilian operations. Before his CTO appointment, Ongaro served as the chief strategy, business development, and wholebuy officer at Telecom Italia.
Following Ongaro’s move to CTO, his previous responsibilities have been temporarily assigned to Telecom Italia’s CEO, Pietro Labriola, on an interim basis. The company stated that both Schiavo and Capdeville are departing voluntarily to pursue new professional opportunities and expressed gratitude for their meaningful managerial and professional contributions.
These changes reflect ongoing management restructuring within Telecom Italia as the company continues under ownership that includes Poste Italiane, aiming to enhance its enterprise and technological capabilities.
