Apple expands its American Manufacturing Program partnerships to produce key materials and components for iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro, supporting over 450,000 US jobs and advancing carbon-neutral goals by 2030.
On October 20, 2026, Apple announced new and expanded collaborations with American manufacturers through its American Manufacturing Program (AMP) to supply critical materials and components for its latest devices, including the innovative foldable iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro. This initiative reinforces Apple's commitment to U.S. manufacturing and innovation, supporting more than 450,000 jobs nationwide.
Central to this expansion is Apple's partnership with Perryman Company, a Pennsylvania-based family business specializing in grade 5 titanium products. Perryman supplies titanium with a minimum of 80% recycled content for the durable enclosure of the iPhone Duo, marking Apple’s largest investment with the company at up to $100 million over three years. Meanwhile, in Delaware, Qnity Electronics manufactures essential advanced films for the new variable aperture technology in the iPhone 18 Pro’s 48MP Fusion Main camera. This innovation improves image quality by dynamically adjusting to lighting conditions using on-device intelligence.
Beyond these newly emphasized partners, Apple draws on American suppliers for nearly 100 components across the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro, including wireless chips and other silicon elements. Key expansions include Broadcom’s $1.5 billion modernization of its Colorado facility to produce advanced radio frequency components and Corning's production of specialty glass, including Ceramic Shield, in Kentucky, set to supply all worldwide iPhone and Apple Watch cover glass by the end of 2026.
Additional contributors include Coherent’s Sherman, Texas facility supplying vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser technology crucial for Face ID and the redesigned Dynamic Island on iPhone 18 Pro models, and TSMC’s fab in Arizona scaling production to deliver over 100 million advanced chips for Apple products in 2026. Amkor Technology is also establishing a new high-volume packaging and test facility in Peoria, Arizona, expected to employ over 3,500 people, with Apple as one of the first customers.
Aligned with Apple’s ambition to achieve carbon neutrality across its supply chain by 2030, all direct American suppliers are mandated to utilize renewable energy in their Apple-related manufacturing processes. The increased use of recycled materials further underlines this environmental commitment.
Apple’s dedication extends to workforce development as well, exemplified by the August 2026 opening of the Advanced Manufacturing Center in Houston, Texas. This center provides training to small and medium businesses on manufacturing processes used for Apple products and hosts production of Apple’s advanced AI servers and upcoming Mac mini models.
These expanded partnerships underscore Apple's vision to deepen American manufacturing capabilities, foster innovation, and promote sustainability in the production of cutting-edge technology for its iconic product lineup.
