Google updates its AI-powered Search features to include more inline links, dedicated official site sections, visual news carousels, and clickable creator profiles, improving how users explore and verify web content.
Google announced significant enhancements to its AI Search features aimed at making web exploration more intuitive and engaging. As detailed in a company blog post dated October 15, 2026, the update focuses on providing users with clearer access to source information and timely content within AI-generated search results.
One major improvement is the increased presence of inline links within AI responses. These embedded links appear higher up in answers, allowing users to directly explore topics with a single click as they read through AI-generated information. This design encourages deeper research without leaving the search interface.
To help users find accurate information quickly, Google is introducing dedicated sections for official websites at the top of AI responses. These sections provide contextual explanations about why particular links are useful, enhancing confidence that users reach authoritative and relevant resources.
In addition, Google is expanding the use of visual carousels for timely news articles tied to search queries. These carousels, now rolling out globally in multiple languages, prominently feature news from users’ Preferred Sources, simplifying access to familiar and trusted publishers.
To further support exploration, the update enhances related article links displayed at the end of some AI responses, making them more visually appealing with image thumbnails and a more clickable interface. This invites users to investigate various perspectives and angles on a topic.
Lastly, Google is testing clickable creator and publisher profiles on video results within AI Mode. These profiles link to Search pages where users can learn about content creators and their broader portfolios, providing much-needed context behind popular videos.
According to Hema Budaraju, Google’s Vice President of Product Management, these features are designed to make the process of finding, understanding, and trusting information easier, more visual, and more engaging for all Search users. The company continues to refine these tools based on user feedback and usage patterns.
These updates illustrate Google’s ongoing commitment to integrating AI capabilities with transparency and user empowerment at its core, enhancing the way searchers connect with the vast resources of the web.
