Bluesky's Attie platform now empowers users to create interactive experiences like websites, games, and quizzes that integrate with the decentralized Bluesky social network, expanding creative possibilities beyond developers.

Bluesky, the open decentralized social network, has expanded its AI-powered platform Attie to enable creators and everyday users to build interactive experiences such as websites, quizzes, games, and polls. This was announced at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026, marking a significant evolution of Attie, which initially focused on AI-driven custom social feeds. The new features allow users without software development skills to create engaging social experiences that live on AT Protocol (atproto), the decentralized framework underpinning Bluesky and other apps in the decentralized social web ecosystem known as Atmosphere. Bluesky CEO Toni Schneider described the update as adding "social vibe coding" capabilities, enabling users to build for groups or communities rather than single-user experiences. Through Attie, creators connect their projects to their atproto identities, and the platform suggests creations informed by public Bluesky profiles. Users can incorporate their own AI models or select from open-weight options, with the finished content benefiting from Bluesky's distribution network, which currently has 47 million registered users. Bluesky COO Rose Wang emphasized that distribution often remains a challenge for creators, but Attie integrates directly with the Bluesky audience, improving content reach. While user engagement has faced hurdles, with some reverting to X, Bluesky views Attie as both a creative playground and an instrument to rejuvenate community and developer activity on its platform. Looking ahead, Bluesky plans to further enhance developer capabilities with the upcoming rollout of private data support in AT Protocol, now in alpha testing and expected by year's end. Schneider envisions a future with many small, fun social projects tailored for friends and niche groups, moving beyond constant global communication. This expansion positions Attie as a unique, AI-powered tool bridging social networking and interactive content creation within a decentralized framework.
