Google Cloud will soon offer OpenAI's GPT 6.1 models Astra, Sol, and Luna alongside its existing AI options, while Google Antigravity will also gain access to these advanced models.

Google Cloud is preparing to introduce OpenAI's newest GPT 6 and 6.1 models—Astra, Sol, and Luna—into its AI service portfolio in the coming weeks. This marks a significant expansion in the range of large language models (LLMs) available to enterprise customers and AI developers through Google's platform. Currently, Google Cloud hosts over 200 AI models, including its own Gemini series, as well as open models like Mistral, Llama, and Gemma, alongside Anthropic's Claude. With the arrival of OpenAI's GPT models, Google becomes the only major cloud provider offering access to all three leading closed LLMs.

Though Microsoft remains OpenAI's primary cloud partner, this new collaboration allows Google's customers to run OpenAI's latest frontier models directly on Google Cloud infrastructure, with billing managed via the Google Cloud Marketplace. This integration enables organizations with existing Google Cloud commitments to seamlessly adopt GPT models for various AI workloads. Google supports dynamic workload shifting between different LLMs based on factors such as performance, latency, and efficiency, allowing flexible usage.

The three new OpenAI models are currently in private preview for select enterprise clients, with interested parties able to request early API access. These models will also appear in Google Antigravity, Google's agent-powered coding tool, which until now has supported Google Gemini and Anthropic's Claude. Although Google has not explicitly detailed which OpenAI models will be included, it is expected that Astra, Sol, and Luna will be available within Antigravity, broadening coding AI options for users.

This development follows Google's recent rollout of Gemini 4 Argon, their latest flagship model update aimed at closing the gap with competitors. While Gemini 4 Argon offers improvements over previous versions, it reportedly consumes tokens very quickly. The addition of OpenAI's GPT suite provides Google Cloud and Antigravity users with alternative, state-of-the-art language models, enhancing choice and versatility in AI-powered applications and development environments.
