Meta Unveils 'Spaces' to Enhance Collaboration with Muse AI Agents

Meta expands its Muse AI assistants with 'Spaces,' custom conversation modules that help users organize projects and integrate third-party apps for seamless task management.

Meta has introduced 'Spaces,' a feature designed to deepen interaction with its Muse AI agents by enabling users to create dedicated conversation zones focused on specific topics or projects. Announced on November 6, 2026, Spaces act as customizable work areas within the Muse interface's sidebar. Each Space can be viewed as a breakout conversation tailored to accomplish particular goals such as planning a vacation, organizing holiday gift tracking, wedding arrangements, or managing DIY projects. According to Meta, users simply describe an idea in chat, and Muse automatically constructs an appropriate Space like a tracker, planner, or project board.

Importantly, Spaces support integration with third-party applications, allowing continuous background updates. This means details such as new concert dates, pricing changes, or savings progress dynamically sync without requiring additional user requests, streamlining project coordination. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg demonstrated the versatility of Spaces on social platform X, highlighting examples like a BBQ game, event tracker, and home control dashboard crafted via Muse.

Muse agents, recognizable by their friendly avatars, have gained notable traction since their debut, registering 10 million users in the U.S. and Canada within two months. In tandem with Spaces, Meta recently launched Muse Voice, facilitating video chats and voice commands with the agents. The company is positioning Muse to compete with other personable AI assistants such as OpenAI's dots and SpaceXAI's Grokbot. Spaces represent Meta's ongoing efforts to enhance user engagement and productivity through these AI companions.
