Startup SuperMe, founded in 2024, has secured $20 million to grow its AI-driven platform that creates expert profiles to answer specialized questions, combining human expertise with artificial intelligence.
SuperMe, a startup launched in 2024, has raised $20 million in a funding round led by Kirsten Green of Forerunner, with additional investment from Greylock Partners. The company operates a unique AI-powered network that builds expert profiles from real individuals’ knowledge, enabling users to pose career and job-related questions to specialized AI personas.
Users ask questions on the SuperMe website, which the platform then matches to AI profiles modeled after experts in relevant fields. It can initiate group chats featuring multiple expert profiles to deliver comprehensive answers. For example, a user may request an analysis of their pitch deck, receiving insights from AI versions of seasoned venture capitalists like Mercedes Bent and Sarah Tavel.
The founders, Casey Winters and Ludo Antonov, bring extensive experience from consumer technology companies including Grubhub, Pinterest, Lyft, and Eventbrite. They conceived SuperMe amid the rising popularity of AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, aiming to make hidden expert networks more transparent and accessible.
SuperMe aggregates information from public sources like LinkedIn, YouTube, and blogs, as well as connected applications including Google Drive, Notion, and Gmail, carefully excluding any personal or proprietary data in responses. The platform currently operates for free but plans to impose question limits requiring payment beyond certain thresholds. It is also exploring ways to incentivize experts to contribute additional knowledge.
Technically, SuperMe integrates with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) standard, allowing AI chatbots such as Claude and ChatGPT to access its expert network seamlessly. With a team of about 13 employees, the company is actively hiring engineers to refine its AI conversational models and expand expert coverage areas.
Investors see SuperMe as well-positioned to foster productive collaboration between humans and AI by creating a networked, transparent platform for sharing niche expertise. Forerunner’s Kirsten Green commented that the startup is timely in addressing challenges in blending AI with human knowledge through an incentivized sharing model.
By developing AI representations of leading professionals across industries, SuperMe aims to democratize access to insider knowledge, assisting users with complex career and business queries through intelligent, expert-informed AI interactions.
