Blackwall secured $100 million in Series C funding at a $2.2 billion valuation to enhance its security tools that help web hosting providers manage surging botnets and AI-driven traffic.
Estonia-based Blackwall has raised $100 million in a Series C funding round, boosting its valuation to $2.2 billion, a fourfold increase since its last funding round in 2025, as reported by TechCrunch. The company specializes in building web traffic security tools aimed at hosting providers, helping them address the challenge of escalating bot activity and increasingly prevalent AI agents on websites.
Led by AVP with participation from returning investors including Dawn Capital, MMC Ventures, and Tera Ventures, this funding will support Blackwall's expansion into new regions including North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East, as well as the development of advanced security tools tailored for hosting, cloud, and managed service providers.
Blackwall differentiates itself by not selling directly to websites; instead, it empowers hosting and cloud service providers through a "channel" model. These providers receive a customizable suite of security tools, allowing them to manage traffic filtering and protection under their own brand, maintaining control over their client relationships while sharing revenue with Blackwall.
The company offers features such as threat intelligence, DDoS protection, certificate management, and sophisticated traffic routing. Its technology distinguishes legitimate users and authorized AI agents—such as Microsoft Office or Codex—from malicious bots through methods like digital fingerprinting and proprietary AI models that analyze request intent and behavior at customer endpoints.
Looking ahead, Blackwall sees a growing market as AI agents increasingly interact and transact autonomously with online services. The company anticipates a need for systems that can authenticate, regulate, and monetize AI agent access to websites securely. While competitors like Cloudflare provide similar AI traffic controls directly to websites, Blackwall’s strategy of enabling hosting providers to manage these services themselves positions it uniquely in the cybersecurity landscape.
Co-founder and CEO Nikita Rozenberg emphasized the mutual benefits of their approach: hosting companies get flexible security solutions to tailor for their clients' needs, while Blackwall gains a scalable partner network to extend its reach. Initial usage includes a free tier for traffic and threat visibility, with charges applying to protective services and tools deployed to mitigate detected threats.
Blackwall’s recent funding and strategic growth plans underscore the rising importance of addressing complex web traffic challenges, particularly with the surge of AI-driven interactions making web availability and security more critical than ever.
