Apple's 2026 Designers of Tomorrow exhibit highlights four rising designers exploring 'presence' through works created with Apple tools, emphasizing how technology integrates with creative processes.
Apple has revealed the 2026 Designers of Tomorrow exhibition, spotlighting emerging talents who explore the theme of 'presence' in design through original works. Curated by Rodman Primack, formerly of Design Miami, the showcase is held in partnership with Design Miami and opened at the Hôtel de Maisons in Paris on October 20, 2026. This second annual event features designers Salem S. Charabi, Isabel Rower, Yoonjeong Lee, and the studio Parafernalia (Genki Matsumura and Sebastián Zorrilla).
The exhibition centers on what commands attention amid the fast pace of modern life, with each participant presenting pieces intended to provoke reflection, shift perspectives, and engage the senses. The designers were selected by a global jury of design experts for their storytelling, innovative use of materials, and craftsmanship.
Significantly, Apple products played an integral role throughout their creative workflows. Charabi used a MacBook Pro for detailed 3D modeling and design, blending traditional materials sourced from Egyptian palms and Japanese techniques. Isabel Rower incorporates the iPhone, MacBook Pro, and Keynote app to capture ideas and build visual archives, while Yoonjeong Lee credits the seamless connectivity of iCloud, AirDrop, and Apple devices like the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil for facilitating her process.
Parafernalia’s founders rely heavily on iPhone, iPad Pro, FaceTime, and cloud-based collaboration tools to design remotely between Monterrey and Mexico City. Their piece, MonoAmbiente 1, merges personal and collective experience, transforming from a stainless steel landscape to functional furniture that fosters interaction.
Overall, the showcase illustrates how Apple’s suite of products continues to support creative expression across disciplines, enabling designers to capture, refine, and share their ideas effectively. The exhibition underlines the ongoing dialogue between technology and design, emphasizing presence as a shared experience in contemporary practice.
