Early tests of the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor show its integrated Radeon 8065S GPU sometimes approaches GeForce RTX 5060 performance with high power limits, delivering notable gains over the previous 8060S model.

New benchmarks have emerged for computers powered by the Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor, revealing performance improvements primarily in its integrated graphics core, the Radeon 8065S. This processor is largely an updated version of last year’s model but features higher clock speeds and supports up to 192 GB of memory, an increase from the prior 128 GB limit.\n\nThe Radeon 8065S iGPU shares most specifications with its predecessor, the Radeon 8060S, but operates at a slightly elevated frequency. As a powerful mobile APU, its graphics performance heavily depends on the power limit set for the processor. In a special early access sample named FEVM FAEX2, the power limit could reach an unusually high 160 watts for short bursts of up to 18 minutes, whereas typical processors in this class are usually restricted to limits between 120 and 140 watts.\n\nUnder these conditions, benchmarks such as Cyberpunk 2077 demonstrate the Radeon 8065S nearly matches the discrete GeForce RTX 5060 GPU’s capabilities. Compared to the Radeon 8060S, it sometimes achieves over 10% higher performance. However, this scenario with an extremely high power ceiling is not typical for most consumer laptops or systems.\n\nTests of the GMKtec EVO-X5 Pro system, which enforces a more standard 120-watt power limit, showed at least a 10% performance uplift in 3DMark benchmarks, though direct comparisons in games were not provided. Absolute in-game performance figures include an average of about 69 frames per second running Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p with Ultra settings using FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR), and roughly 87 fps in Red Dead Redemption 2 using mixed Ultra and High settings without FSR.\n\nOverall, the Radeon 8065S iGPU matches or exceeds entry-level discrete GPUs in the RTX 4060 class and occasionally rivals the RTX 5060, a notable achievement for integrated graphics. Nonetheless, systems based on Ryzen AI Max processors focus primarily on AI workloads and feature large memory capacities, contributing to very high costs. Therefore, although gaming is possible, such machines are considered gaming-capable only in a limited sense.\n\nThese findings illustrate continued progress in integrated graphics performance within mobile APUs, blurring lines between integrated and entry-level discrete GPUs under certain power configurations. Still, broad market adoption at the reported performance levels may be constrained by power and cost considerations.
