Asus Launches NUC 14 Essential Fanless Mini PC with 8-Core Intel Processor

Asus introduces the NUC 14 Essential Fanless, a silent mini PC with passive cooling and options up to an 8-core Intel Core 3 N355 processor, designed for 24/7 industrial and commercial use.

Asus has unveiled the NUC 14 Essential Fanless, a compact mini PC engineered with a fully passive cooling system to ensure silent operation. This new model is designed for continuous 24/7 use in demanding environments such as commercial, industrial, and educational settings where low noise and reliability are critical.

The mini PC comes in multiple configurations featuring Intel processors including the energy-efficient quad-core N150 and N250 CPUs, both with a thermal design power (TDP) of 6 watts, as well as a top-tier version equipped with the Intel Core 3 N355 processor. The Core 3 N355 boasts eight energy-efficient cores, capable of reaching speeds up to 3.9 GHz and has a TDP of up to 15 watts.

To achieve its fanless operation, Asus implemented a large aluminum heat sink that covers a significant portion of the motherboard and transfers heat directly to the chassis. This approach eliminates the need for noisy fans, supporting uninterrupted operation.

Memory support includes a single SO-DIMM slot compatible with DDR5-4800 RAM modules, allowing up to 32 GB of memory. Storage options feature an M.2 slot for SSDs.

Connectivity is robust, with front-facing ports including two USB-A, one USB-C, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The back panel offers additional USB ports, a 2.5Gb Ethernet jack, DisplayPort, HDMI outputs, and a power connector. Wireless adapters for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are also included, and the unit can drive multiple monitors simultaneously.

Measuring 135 x 115 x 45 mm and weighing just 640 grams, the NUC 14 Essential Fanless balances compactness with performance and versatility. Asus positions this mini PC primarily for continuous operation scenarios in retail, manufacturing, education, and other fields where silent, reliable computing is necessary.
