NVIDIA and Microsoft announced new AI-driven hardware and software integration for Windows PCs, including RTX Spark laptops and Microsoft Execution Containers, enabling secure, powerful AI agents locally on personal computers.
At a recent Microsoft event in San Francisco, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella jointly introduced a significant technological collaboration aimed at integrating advanced AI agents into Windows PCs. This partnership reflects NVIDIA’s historic connection to Windows, with Huang noting that NVIDIA’s success was deeply rooted in Windows support, and now AI agents represent the next transformative step for personal computing.
Microsoft outlined enhancements in Windows to support these AI agents securely and persistently through the launch of Microsoft Execution Containers (MXC). MXC is a new OS-level infrastructure designed to allow AI agents to run safely in the background under rigorous system governance. Pavan Davuluri, Microsoft’s EVP of Windows and Devices, explained that this approach unlocks the full potential of AI agents within the Windows ecosystem while maintaining security.
A highlight of the event was the introduction of RTX Spark, a new NVIDIA hardware platform integrating a cutting-edge Blackwell RTX GPU with up to 6,144 cores and a 20-core NVIDIA Grace CPU boasting 600 GB/s connectivity. RTX Spark offers up to one petaflop of FP4 AI performance and can support models like Qwen 3.8 Flash Next, enabling sophisticated AI processing locally without cloud dependency.
Laptops equipped with RTX Spark, including the newly unveiled Surface Laptop Ultra—which features up to 128 GB of unified memory—are now available for preorder, with shipments beginning in mid-October. Additional systems from leading PC manufacturers such as Acer, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI, and Gigabyte will also adopt RTX Spark for various form factors ranging from ultra-slim laptops to compact desktops suitable for always-on AI agent operation.
For enterprise and advanced AI users, NVIDIA previewed the DGX Station for Windows, the first deskside AI supercomputer to incorporate GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Desktop Superchip technology into the Windows environment. This system delivers up to 20 petaFLOPS of FP4 AI compute and 748 GB of coherent memory, allowing organizations to run trillion-parameter AI models locally. This unifies AI development and traditional workflows for Windows users, reducing the need to switch between Linux and Windows platforms.
This collaboration aims to make the PC a more powerful personal assistant in the AI era, democratizing AI capabilities across consumer, creator, developer, and enterprise segments without compromising security or performance. Both companies emphasize that these advancements signal a secular trend toward deeply integrated local AI computing on the Windows platform, marking a new beginning for personal computers.
NVIDIA and Microsoft invite users to preorder RTX Spark laptops and explore these developments to take full advantage of the next generation of AI-powered Windows computing.
